Had another fine continental breakfast at the lodge, then headed out on Rt 64 South. We actually hit the road about 9:45.
Our luck with the weather finally ran out at 4:26! We stopped at the Fields of the Wood to wait out the worst of the rain, have some coffee and ice cream, and play with the dog Rocky.
The rain continued the rest of the way to the lodge, but not so heavy as to cause visibility problems. We arrived at the lodge at 6:00PM.
We went to a restaurant in town (Tellico Plains) and had a fine meal. Joane picked up some vanilla ice cream on the way back, and we all repaired to the carbeque area to enjoy aur ice cream and apple pie. Yummy! Stayed swapping yarns until about 10, then off to bed (its pouring out!).
